For Good

My heart has been aching all day since learning of the untimely death of my nephew.

When Paul called this morning to tell me the news, I immediately thought of his wife and three young children. As the time has passed since learning of his passing, my heart is overflowing with love for all of my extended family.

Allison, Shelly and I spent months learning For Good. The first hundred or so times I sang it, I burst into tears singing “handprint on my heart” as I thought of my daughter marrying her high school sweetheart and moving to adult responsibilities.

When I think of all the young families in our lives who are working hard every day to create a beautiful life, I ache thinking of the many trials we have to overcome.

The words of this song express best how I am feeling right now.
