Sunday Night – Memorial Day Weekend
We just had a typical weekend with Soccer, baking, our weekly call with Andy, Church, and the kids all came over last night because this morning nobody had to go to work except Allison.
We watched the BBC version of Sense and Sensibility last night and Paul baked brownies.
Ben let me tape him singing the song he and Jeff wrote for his wedding. Jeff sang this song Baby We’re Awake to his amazing wife Alison at their wedding reception.
Ben changed the chords a bit and sang it for me as a solo.
He also let me know that he is writing a new song. No name yet, but he sang the first verse and chorus for me.
Today we are BBQ’ing at Ally and Kyles house for Memorial Day. We talked about heading into Boulder to attend the Boulder Creek Fest and watch the end of the big race in the stadium. CU always puts on this amazing Memorial Day celebration in partnership with the city as the Bolder Boulder 10K is winding down.

We have attended many times in past years, but this year we want to do less and just celebrate the holiday as a family, as we honor our dearly departed and our veterans.
I was sickened to hear from Paul’s brother that the bronze veterans plaque that adorned Grandpa Hatch’s tombstone for his service in the Army during World War II was stolen. We are working with the Veterans Administration to get it replaced.
Happy Memorial Day!
