Ben informed me that I was the meanest mother on the earth.  I’ve been hearing this for almost all of my time as a Mom.  The one year I let the children go trick or treating, they all had a nasty flu two weeks later…  NOT interested in going through that experience again.  We always rent a couple movies, make a nice dessert, and pretend we are not home on Oct. 31st.  I’ve been called Anti-social and a Halloween Scrooge, but when all the kiddies are coughing and feverish in two weeks after the sugar high, I’ll be glad that we once again abstained, although it is always terrible to have the children upset with me.
